Excess molar enthalpy of acetonitrile + 1-pentanol and acelonitrile + 1-hexanol as a function of composition at 288.15, 293.15, 298.15 and 303.15 K under atmospheric pressure were used to test the applicability of the Prigogine-Flory-Patterson (PFP) model. The model, with only one adjustable parameter, shows to be able to correlate the experimental data of the investigated mixtures within a standard deviation up to 163 Jmol(-1). The interactional contribution of the model plays the main role to describe the excess molar enthalpy and its ability of multiproperty description is not observed for the studied systems.
