Resumen
We show that, in the context of Glauber's multiple diffraction theory, the square of the correction factor introduced by Bourrely, Soffer, and Wu in a double-pole form factor parametrization, may be interpreted as an elementary (parton-parton) amplitude. The condition concerning the existence of a well-defined Fourier transform is demonstrated, and it is shown that the corresponding profile function comes from an ordinary transform (Bessel function) plus a generalized transform (delta distribution). Comparisons with a modified parametrization and results from a model-independent analysis are also presented and discussed. 54 3 2385 2387
