dc.descriptionPotassium permanganate supported onto alumina in hexane-water is a good oxidizing agent to convert alpha -hydroxysilanes into acylsilanes. This mild oxidation afforded aroylsilanes having electron-donating groups attached to the aromatic ring, in 70-86% yield.
