dc.descriptionA figure of merit and an optimization procedure are defined, with the aim being to maximize the output power of erbium-doped fiber lasers. Two tunable erbium-doped fiber-ring lasers are assembled as examples. The calculated results well agree with the experimental data, confirming the validity of the model.
