dc.descriptionLet S-k be the semigroup of matrices in Sl(n, R) having nonnegative k-minors. Its Lie wedge L (S-k) generates sl(n, R) and is noncontrollable. It is proved here that L(S-k) is a maximal noncontrollable Lie wedge if k = 1, n - 1 or when k and n are even. The latter is the family of Lie wedges mentioned in the title.
