The adducts [CdX(2)(L)(n)], where X = Cl, Br, or I; L = quinoline (quin) or morpholine (morph); and n = 1, 1.5, or 2, were synthesized and characterized by melting point and elemental analysis, thermal studies, and IR spectroscopy. From calorimetric studies in solution, the standard enthalpies of formation of the adducts and several thermodynamic parameters were determined.
