Resumen
This paper investigates a hybrid method for the estimative of the structural forces in hermetic compressors. The forces applied in the compressor housing are transmitted trough suspension springs and the discharge tube and they are responsible for the structure-borne noise, which is caused by the vibration of the housing induced by the compressor imbalance force. With the estimated forces it's possible using them to simulate the radiated sound pressure by the hermetic compressor considering only the structure-borne noise. This methodology demonstrated to be a powerful tool to redesign the shell shape of the hermetic compressor aiming the radiated noise reduction, where the project parameters can be shape and thickness. The numerical results (using Boundary Element Method-BEM) presented good agreement with the experimental results, but same inaccuracies were obtained due to the limitations of the numerical model and the experimental data.
