Four-wave mixing between signals around the zero dispersion wavelength and erbium doped fiber amplifier noise was studied. It was found that when the two signals are placed symmetrically with respect to the zero dispersion wavelength, strong parametric amplification of the amplifier noise occurs. A bandwidth on the order of 1 nm was observed.
