dc.descriptionA simple extreme-tight binding scheme is proposed to evaluate the long-wavelength dielectric constant and main plasmon energy of the titanium dichalcogenide compounds TiS//2 and TiSe//2. Both compounds are assumed to be semiconductors. The model presented, although very simple, provides a reasonable picture concerning the main plasmon peak in these compounds.
