dc.descriptionOne of the main features of ATM networks is to allow the establishment of connections with different Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. The monitoring of QoS parameters is fundamental to help network management decisions control traffic contracts. In this paper we present an in-service procedure to monitor end-to-end cell delay in ATM connections through OAM performance management cells. This procedure does not need to use synchronization between network elements in order to accomplish cell monitoring.
