Resumen
Tilting-pad journal bearings with multiple orifices hybrid lubrication are analysed by means of a thermohydrodynamic theory. Adiabatic boundary conditions are adopted, and a bidimensional model is used to represent the fluid flow behavior in the bearing gap. The influence of operational conditions on the temperature distribution, when different bore arrangements in the pads are used, is discussed and compared to the theoretical values coming from the conventional hydrodynamic case (without radial oil injection). © 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
