| dc.description | Objetivo. Determinar la frecuencia de mortalidad materna según el modelo de las tres demoras en la atención en la Zona 6 del Ecuador en el período 2012 a 2015.
Material y métodos. Con diseño descriptivo se recopiló información sobre defunciones maternas en el Comité Zonal de 2012-2015 y se analizaron las variables: edad, instrucción, etnia, estado civil, residencia, provincia donde ocurrió y año, y se identificaron las demoras en la atención y sus dimensiones.
Resultados. Se registraron 49 casos de deceso materno en un grupo poblacional con una mediana de edad de 27 años (rango 15 a 46). El 71% tuvo entre 20 a 34 años. El 53.1% tuvo instrucción primaria y el 36.7% secundaria. Fueron casadas el 77.6%. El 79.6% se registró como etnia mestiza. El 85.7% residía en zona rural. En el 2014 ocurrió el 30% de los decesos.
57% de muertes maternas ocurrió en el Azuay, 28% y 14% en Morona Santiago. La demora en recibir ayuda fue del 59% con un predominio de la falta de decisiones (P < 0.001); la búsqueda de ayuda del 57% y tuvo como explicación no reconocer el problema (P < 0.001), y la demora en alcanzar ayuda llegó al 18% por la falta de ambulancia y vías de acceso.34% de decesos hubo concurrencia de dos demoras.
Conclusión. La mayor frecuencia de mortalidad materna tuvo relación con la demora en reconocer el problema y en tomar decisiones. La falta de ambulancia y de vías de acceso fue de menor impacto | |
| dc.description | Objective. Determine the frequency of maternal mortality according to the models of three delays in care in the zone 6 of the Ecuador for the period 2012-2015.
Material and methods. With descriptive design was collected information about all maternal deaths recorded by the Zonal Committee of maternal death 2012-2015 and the variables were analyzed: age, instruction, ethnic group, marital status, residence, province where it took place and year, and delays in care and its dimensions were identified.
Results. There were 49 cases of maternal death in a population group with a median age of 27 years (range 15 to 46). 71% had between 20-34 years. The 53.1% had primary education and the 36.7% secondary. They were married the 77.6%. The 79.6% was recorded as mestizo ethnicity. 85.7% lived in rural areas. In 2014, took place 30% of deaths. In the other years the frequency was lower.
The 57% of deaths maternal occurred in the Azuay, the 28% and the 14% in Morona Santiago. The delay in receiving aid was 59% with a predominance of the lack of decisions (P < 0.001); the delay in seeking help of 57% and explanation was the failure to recognize the problem (P < 0.001), and the delay in reaching aid it was 18%, motivated by the lack of ambulance and access roads. In 34% of deaths there was concurrence of two delays.
Conclusion. The increased frequency of maternal mortality in zone 6 was related to the delay in recognizing the problem and delays in making decisions. The lack of ambulance and the lack of access roads were delays of less impact. | |
