dc.description | El estudio se realiza a 246 mujeres con más de 20 SG, con o sin trabajo de parto, en el Departamento de Gineco-Obstetricia del Hospital del IESS de Cuenca-Ecuador. enero-junio de 2005. Con el fin de determinar, características generales de la población de estudio, prevalencia de cesárea y principales factores asociados. Fue un estudio descriptivo de prevalencia de corte trtansversal. Se utilizaron los formularios del CLAP, que fueron llenados por los médicos residentes e internos de medicina que laboraron en el departamento de Gineco-Obstetricia del hospital en estudio. Los datos fueron ingresados en el SIP, pasados a una base plana en EXCEL office XP 2002 y analizados en el EPI Infor 3.2.2. Se observó que la media de la edad fue de 29 años (DS 5,93), el 71,95fueron casadas y el 76,83mujeres con nivel de instrucción secundaria/superior. La prevalencia de cesárea fue del 37,8. Los principales factores asociados fueron: edad 16 y 35 años (RP 1,27; 0,88-183), una o más cesáreas previas (RP 2,78; IC 2,16-3,58); infección de vías urinarias (RP 1,36; IC 0,85-2,18; Preclampsia (RP 1,62; IC 1, 05-2,50); HTA (RP 2,17; IC 1,36-3,46); presentaciones pelviana y transversa (RP 2,00; IC 1,37-2,90). Se concluye que la maýoría de mujeres pertenecieron a una población económicamente activa (20-39 años), lo que les permite tener un trabajo estable y cubierto por un seguro, con una pareja estable y un nivel de instrucción que oscila entre secundaria y universitaria. La prevalencia de cesárea encontrada fue una de las más altas en sudamérica no cumpliendo con la normativa del 15,20dada por la OMS | |
