Resumen
The objective of this research study was to determine the bioconcentration factor (BFC) of heavy metals in the Eichhornia crassipes, taken from the lagoon -Valle Bella‖ located in the community of Langos, in the canton Guano, for this a collection of shows per month for four months, both the plant and the environment where it develops. For the development of the research, the analysis of heavy metals in water was carried out, It is found that the concentrations of Cd, Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn, Ni and Pb are found on the permissible limits for bodies of water for the preservation of flora and fauna, however the concentration of these metals with the exception of Pb are within the limits of quality admissible for waters for agricultural use. Likewise, the analysis of the main metals was carried out (Cd, Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn, Ni and Pb) in the water and the plant, which was used to calculate the bioconcentration, in order to know their extraction and / or stabilization potential heavy metals, obtaining results that show that there is a low absorption of cadmium and it also accumulated in greater quantity Fe, Cu and Mn (1 242,495, 1 59,410 and 1 347,055 mg / kg). Finally, this research indicates that Eichhornia crassipes can be used to phytoextraction of heavy metals in contaminated sites. Also, it is estimated that the accumulation of metals in biomass is influenced by the initial concentration of these elements. HE recommends expanding the study by comparison with other plant species and with the interaction between the root and the aerial part of the plant.
