dc.description.abstractThe objective was to analyze, correlate and evaluate the nutrients (nitrites, nitrates, potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen, pH and organic matter) of the sediments of the "Santa Teresita lagoon of the Guano Canton” through a multivariable analysis. The same ones that are directly involved in the chronic eutrophication process of the water resource. To start the research work, six sampling points were established in the "Santa Teresita lagoon of the Guano Canton”, which were randomly taken with a repetition of one for each month for five months, once the sediment samples were collected, the nutrients were analyzed which are the object of study. The results of the laboratory analysis of the nutriments were gotten and it is observed the phosphorus has high values. The multivariable evaluation was carried out with the help of the SPSS software, which allowed us to prove that there are correlations between the nutrients. The factorial analysis has shown that there are indeed important nutrients that were grouped together in a component called macronutrients, phosphorous, organic matter, nitrogen, nitrates, pH. The research paper concluded that the multivariable techniques applied in the research were of great help to demonstrate the high correlation between the nutrients phosphorus, organic matter and nitrogen. Finally, training and awareness of the use and abuse of water resources is recommended, as well as the management of resources by the competent authorities for their recovery and possible dredging.
