Resumen
In the Program of Minor Species of the Guaslan Farm, of Riobamba canton, in the Chimborazo province, different achira flour levels (10, 20, 30 %) were used in the feeding of guinea pigs at the gestation – lactation stage to be compared to the control treatment. 40 females were used with an average weight of 1247 g. A Completely at Random Design (DCA), with 10 replications and 1 female per Treatment were applied. The best results in the productive behavior of the mother corresponded to the postpartum weight, final weight and weight gain variables (1406. 50, 1459.30 and 207.90 g). Respectively, the use of 20 % achira flour, while in the offspring productive behavior in the litter size, offspring weight and litter weight at birth as well at weaning, no significant different present. The best profitability was obtained with the inclusion of 20 % achira flour, reaching a benefit-cost of 1.32. The used of achira flour did exert an influence in the productive behavior of the stock. As a conclusion it is recommended to use 20 % achira flour in the feeding of guinea pigs, during the gestation and lactation stages because the best productive yields, minor production cost and a better benefit-cost are reported
