dc.description.abstract | The use of Trichanthera gigantea flour (nacedero) was evaluated for feeding guinea pig during the growing-fattening stage constituted by 40 females and 40 males as experimental units under a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five repetitions in combinatorial arrangement of two factors. The best productive results were achieved with the use of 30% of nacedero flour obtaining as the final weight (1.19 kg); weight increase (0.88 kg); the most efficient feed conversion (5.80), carcass weight (0.89 kg) and the best carcass yield (72.26%). Regarding the sex, it was achieved the following aspects: final weight (1.09 kg); feed conversion (6.62), carcass weight (0.78 kg) and carcass yield (71.98%) in male guinea pig. In terms of the interaction between factors, the best carcass yields were recorded for both males and females with 75.67% and 74.84%, respectively. The increased profitability was obtained with the implementation of 30 % nacedero flour reaching a benefit/cost of 1.36. It is recommended to implement nacedero flour with 30% because of its protein and mineral content for feeding guinea pig in order to reduce feed costs and obtain the best yields. | |
