Resumen
The current graduation work aims to choose the material and to build rotovator blades of the YTO DF-15L rototiller, in order to reduce the rate of wear that the traditional Steel blades used in farm work show currently, all this based upon the needs of the farmers for improving and modernize their processes, many of these rototiller are now being used since they do not have reliable farming blades. Based on the features of the AISI 1030, the material which the traditional blades are manufactured from, which in hardeness test had a result of 25 HRC, it was demostrsted that they do not have the appropiate properties of hardeness required. For a farming ítem to result reliable, it is necessary the material have high hardeness (38-45 HRC) and high resistance to rust. When making the analysis of the marerial avaliable locally, it was found that the steel AISI A517 is suitable to the required features. The positive results in the deformation, effort concentration and weariness studies, analyzed with CAD CAE validated the design of the geometry for its further manufacture by means of the artisanal forging. The field trials performed in the province of Chimborazo evidence a great performance and high reliability of the blades in endemic soils from the zone and the latter statisticals analysis of the test tubes showed a lower weariness of the blade made of the material chosen compared to the ones traditionally used. It was proved thet the use of Steel AISI A517 is a doable solution for the weariness problem, it is recommended to apply the new blades to boost the regular functionning of the rototillers.
