Resumen
In the present work of degree has as objective design and build a tank of fuel tank for a vehicle single-seater of the formula SAE in the career of engineering automotive. If was performed the design, analysis and construction of a fuel tank also the choice of the elements that compose the power supply of low pressure for the prototype. Applying the design concurrent and the deployment of the function quality or QFD, by means of which is selected an alternative optimal according to the requirements of the engine Yamaha 400cc. As a result fuel tank was designed using Solidworks software and for the analysis was used the software ANSYS with which maximum effort and the safety factor was analyzed to ensure the design of the fuel tank. The material used was the AISI 304 and the construction was carried out by means of the process formed as is the sausage on metal plates. Built the fuel tank was obtained a storage capacity of 12 liters and the selection of the elements that conform the power supply is adequate during operation of the prototype .It is concluded that the fuel tank is completely tight and the elements compose the power supply work properly, also an inks penetration test was realized to verify the quality of the Weld. In a way that complies with the formula SAE, additionally the parameters of greater incidence of the QDF, fulfilled. It is recommended to apply the maintenance plan to avoid any damage to the elements that compose the system.
