dc.description.abstractThis project aims to design and build a braking system for a Formula SAE competition vehicle for the Automotive Engineering Career. For this design, the competition rules Formula SAE were taken into account, starting from technical data obtained directly from the single seat that is in the process of development, calculations were made of the brake system using the analytical method using mathematical formulas through which determine the efficiency of the system during its operation, the measurements should be adequate to obtain a better weight distribution, taking into account that the system is independent for both; the front and rear, in the design stage modeled using de software solidworks, each of the element that are part of the brake system. Though the ANSYS software, the maximum stress, temperature, safety factor and elastic deformation were analyzed that suffer the materials that make up the system parts due to the applied loads, to rule out possible failures when the system stats operating. Based on these results obtained in the mathematical analysis and tough analysis software, it proceeded to the construction and implementation of each of the elements that make up the system, performing functional test were obtained real values which, when related to those obtained in the Analytical method provide an effective performance, it is recommended to perform the appropriate static and dynamic tests as they are an important factor in terms of technical verification that comply with the guidelines imposed by the regulations of the Formula SAE.
