dc.description.abstractIn this work was carried out the design and construction of a system for a vehicle type formula for the school of automotive engineering. For which the information was collected and updated regulations on the standard society of automotive engineers (SAE), using this information is obtained the most relevant elements that are going to be analyzed analytically using computerized packages (ANSYS) or, design criteria set out in articles of the (SAE) standard. Once you have obtained the design criteria, to comply with a safety coefficient capable for the dynamic moment to be generated in the flywheel which generates steering angle in the tires, after being examined and reviewed the operation of the steering system, are considered in the design of the steering system using a computer program called solid work, which once design the system will emit the corresponding planes for the items that are to be built, selected and subsequently armed to form a single system. Its respective construction should note the SAE standard for the location of those elements with their corresponding dimensions. The results obtained with the above analysis and studied were the most appropriate as they gave as a result steering system secure, reliable and that complies with the SAE standard. So; in a future, the polytechnic School of Chimborazo participate in that competition. The study and analysis was conducted in the elements, the system must be the correct methods and reliable since this system is one of the most important because of its function, which is to lead the vehicle because a fault in the system would produce fatal accidents.
