Resumen
The evaluation of the lincomycin as growth-promoter in guinea pigs was performed, in the Program of minor species of the Animal Science Faculty (ASF), of the ESPOCH. The experimental units were modeled under a completely randomized design in combinatorial arrangement where the factor A, were different levels of lincomycin (0.8, 0.9 and 1 g/kg of food), in comparison with a control treatment; and, the factor B, the sex of the animal (male and female), wlth 5 repetitions. The results indicate that the use of different levels of lincomycin affect the productive performance of Guinea Pigs, establishing the best responses to be used 0.9 g, of lincomycin per kilogram of food, because the best final weights were shower (1.04 kg), weight gain (0.68 kg), higher total food consumption (4.67 kg), lower feed conversion (6.90), and greater dressed weight (0.73 kg). Statistical differences are not appreciated by effect of the sex, howerver the major reports are evident in the females, specifically for total consumption of food (4.58 kg), and higher cost per kilogram of food (2.96 dollars), meanwhile a superiority is showed in males for final weight (0.94 kg), weight gain (0.58 kg), dressed weight (0.71 kg). Dressed production, and mainly the lower feed conversion (2.96). The higher profitabilities were obtained with the use of balanced meal with 0,9 g, of lincomycin with benefits/costs of 1,352, this means a profitability of 35% that is economically favorable
