Resumen
At the poultry productive Unit, Animal Science Faculty of ESPOCH, located in Riobamba County, Chimborazo province, some diets under the effect of different diatoms levels (2, 4, 6Kg/Tn of food) were evaluated as well as a treatment control for Lohamnn Brown chicken, these treatments had four repetitions with 20 chickens per repetition resulting a total of 320 birds. This was carried out under a completely randomized design which evaluated different parameters during a 70- day research, statistical analyzes were analyzed with SPSS (2010) and Excel 2010. These additives did not influence the productive parameters. The nutrients consumption showed some statistical differences, (p<0,01) in the initial stage (7 to 28 days), in the growing stage (5 to 10 weeks), the diatoms effect did not influence the initial weight while the other parameters showed statistical differences with a final weight of 799,74g, weight gaining of 11,76g per day, and a food conversion of 3,54. Regarding to the nutrients consumption the diatoms did not affect the food intake but there were statistical differences like (p<0, 01) which obtained the best results, they are: protein consumption 8,67g/day, metabolizing energy 114,25Kcal/day, calcium 0,35g/day, and phosphorus 0,17g/day. The results from the research showed that diatoms benefit the chicken health and increase the beneficial bacteria in the digestive system (lactobacillus 85%), they also reduce the parasites and total coliforms for all treatments. Finally the production cost in ten weeks was 3,11 dollars per chicken for the four treatments
