Resumen
Upon evaluating the effect of diets based on quinoa as by product an different diatoms levels in the productive performance of pio pio capon poultry with levels of 2, 4 and 6 kg/Tn of diatoms and a control treatmet with 5 replications and an experimental unit size of 5 birds adjusted to a completely at random design the data were tabulated in Excel (2010) and SPSS 18 version (2010) for ADEVA. The most relevant results were reported in final weights (5816,76 g) weight gain (4413,2 g) feed conversion (2,83 g) and cost/Kg weight gain with 1,53 USD obtained with the use of 2 kg/Tn of diatoms. The nutritional contribution with the different diatom levels plus a diet based on quinoa as by product did not record statistical differences between the evaluated treatments. In terms of meat quality in the chest muscle in the pio pio capon poultry with 2 kg/Tn (T1) reported means for pH at the 24 hours of 6,55 row protein of 25,44% in the intramuscular fat of 2,11%. Another positive effect of the use of the diatoms is the reduction of total coliforms from 40000 down to 2400 Ufc/ml; Escherichia coli from 3000 to 900 Ufc/ml obtained with the application of 4 kg/Tn of diatoms; while lowering the parasite load is usually efficient white the use of the different diatoms levels. In the economic analysis the 2 kg/Tn reports values of benefit/cost of 1,36 with a profitability of 36%.
