Resumen
At Tunshi experimental farm belonging to the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo, Animal Science Faculty, located in Riobamba, Chimborazo, the productive behavior of crossed sheep was evaluated in the last third of gestation and the first stage of lactation wich were supplied with different levels of quinoa like by-product (5,10 and 15%) being compared with a control treatment with 4 repetitions Experimental Unit Size (E.U.S. of a sheep), giving a total of 16 crossed sheep (species-crosses Corriedale, Poll Dorset, Rambouilliet), distributed under a completely and random design, for 120 days. The results were processed by the Statistical Software SPSS (2008), Exel (2010) and separation of measures according to Duncan (p<0,05 and p<0,01). In the mothers the best productive results were obtained with the treatment T3 (15% of quinoa like by-product), in the final weight to the animal childbearing 53,74 Kg; a weight gain of 139,31 g/day; the best loss weight of post animal childbearing of 21,25 g/day. In the same treatment the nutrients consumption was efficient as follows: the dry matter intake 1,88 kg/day; crude protein of 337,7g/day; metabolizable energy of 3,88 Mcal/day, calcium of 24,69 g/day and phosphorus of 9,11 g/day. The effect of the level of quinoa as by-product (15%) on the etnozoometricas measurements of the lambs evaluated up to 42 days of lactation reported a height to 47,40 cm; neck diameter of 13,53 cm; body length of 37,53 cm; and leg length of 13,38 cm. The weight of 4,17 kg and final weight of 13,76 kg. The benefit-cost generated was to 1,16 USD that means a profitability of 16%. For these reasons it is recommended to use this level of quinoa like by-product in alternative diets, since it improves the productive parameters principally in lambs.
