dc.description.abstractA management plan of Maintenance was developed. It was based on the analysis of indices of reliability, maintainability, and availability of electric diesel locomotives type BBB 2400 of Ferrocarriles Ecuador Empresa Pública (FEEP). Two variables were analyzed: current state of the Maintenance Management, through a survey to determine the current state. This survey was applied to seven members of this organization, among different people like workshop managers and people who is responsible of the locomotives in the 4 subsidiary companies of the FEEP. The second variable was Availability of the locomotives type BBB 2400 of the FEEP. A specific methodology was used to measure the indicators of reliability, availability and maintainability (CMD) throughout the analysis of the statistics software on eight locomotives of the enterprise. The result gotten was that the Maintenance Management reached a regular state with a global of 55,78 % from the 100% achieved. Through the analysis CMD, it was determined low indices of corrective reliability of 29,68%, preventive reliability of 39,77%, corrective maintenance of 85,79%, preventive maintenance of 68,80% and an achieved availability of 73,30%. When comparing the results, the hypothesis about the current state of the maintenance management influences on the result of the indicators CMD. Therefore, it was proposed a plan of maintenance management that increases the levels of the indicators CMD through strategies and procedures of improvement for the management areas affected. When using the Pareto and FMECA, it was detected high criticalities on fault modes in the electronic and pneumatic systems. Hence, it was proposed new tasks and modifications of frequency on the maintenance plans. It was proposed new tasks and modifications of frequency on the maintenance plans. It is suggested to organize a workshop for the personnel who works on the maintenance area, in referring to the proposal made, before working on the establishment so it succeeds.
