dc.description.abstractThis research proposes: analyze the geomechanical properties that make the batter Macas–Puyo road, in the section between the abscissa 0 + 550 to 1 + 450 to define equilibriun by the method of limiting the safety factor; the study focused on the abscissa 1+ 100 because it is the place where there have been landslides and slope exposure are more vulnerable to these phenomena’s. It present the slope instability problems that are evident to naked eye. The stability analysis was performend using the method of limit equilibrium. The main part of the research is based on the realization of a retro slippage analysis by geological and geomorphological characterization. A fieldwork, laboratory and cabinet, was conduced which allowed: the location and sampling, mapping intrinsic parameters of the slope as tilhology, degree of weathering. Laboratory tests were also carried out in order to obtain the properties of each material, slide 5.0 software was also used which yielded a model of the slope and primarily estimate the factor of safety using the Mohr failure criterion Coulomb and mathematical models Bishop and Janbu and simplified the static conditions and pseudoestaticas. They results were subsequently analyzed and interpreted where it was concluded that the slope is studying has a lower security factor to the specified standards of road cuts.
