dc.description.abstractThis research consisted of the “Development of a SCADA system with database according to the ISO 14224 standard for two generators of the power plant of ZPF Block 18 – Petroamazonas EP”, located in Orellana province, this system registers the fault records of a standardized real-time calculation of key performance indicators (KPI’s, for its acronym in English) directly from the Human-Machine Interface (HMI), the selected indicators were: availability, maintainability, reliability, unreliability, Mean Time To Repair, Mean Time Between Failures, Failure rate, Repair rate and downtime. The scientific and deductive methods were applied to gather theorical and practical information necessary for the development, implementation, functional testing and demostration of the application. A client-server structure was used, as well as a programmable logic controller (PLC), a database system SQL (Structured Query Languaje), and development software SCADA to establish communication among field variables, the tables records and the HMI, throughout VBA (Visual Basic) programming and SQL statements. After finishing the implementation the generator reliability results were MG1: 52.37% and MG2 99.02%. In conclusión, the application enabled to obtain key performance indicators in real time, provide a more reliable database through the fault records base on the ISO 14224:2006 standard, in addition, the two generators Failure Mode and Effects Analysis were presented. It is recommended to ask maintenance managements professinals to analyze the indicators results for a correct interpretation, furthermore, since it is an standardized system, it could be applied to eqipment with similar characteristics within the oil industry.
