A single variable analysis was performed to establish the prevalence and the association of the variable effect or result . Later on, a multivariate logistic regression analysis to establish the specific weight of each factor was performed. For the analysis and interpretation of results , the JPM 5 . 1 statistical package was used . Performing the evaluation on 150 patients the results were : 51.3 % were women and48.7 % men . Services in internal medicine, neurosurgery and orthopedics malnourished significant difference ( p =0.0302) were detecte d . There was also a significant differences between the quality of care and the nutritional status ( p =0.0168) . It was concluded that the value of hospital malnutrition is within the range of existing prevalence in Latin America .
