At the Poultry Farm "Dos Hermanos, Chimborazo Province, Chambo Canton, it was evaluated the effect of the usage of three Thymus vulgaris levels (Thyme) (250, 300 and 350 mg / kg), to a control treatment. For the present research 400 chicken were used Lohmann Brown in the second stage of production, each experimental unit was made up by 20 chickens, with 5 repetitions each treatment, distributed under completely randomized design. Analyzing the productive behavior, the best results were obtained using 350 mg of thyme (T3), for the final weight variables (2259.90 g), weight gain (63.78 g), food intake (255.6), posture percentage (95.21%), egg weight (67.57 g) a better efficiency in feed-conversion ratio (1.46) and a high cost / benefit ratio 1.53 USD which equates to a profitability of 53%. In the bacteriological results, It was observed that the usage of 350 mg of thyme / kg of food there is a diminution of colony forming units (CFUS), comparing with the control treatment, mainly in amounts of Eschericha coli; the parasitological analysis reported that there was not presence of parasites both in the treatments and control treatment. As well as the organoleptic behavior is not influenced by the usage of thyme, obtaining an egg yolk coloration of (62, 43; 3, 51 and 41, 89% for green, reddish and yellow, coloration consecutively. For all these reasons presents previously it is recommended to include into the diet 350 mg of thyme / kg of food (T3) showing better results in the productive, microbiological, and economic parameters.
