Resumen
This research ̈Desinging and Construction of a frame for a light automobile chassis training module for the Automotive Engineering School of ESPOCH ̈ indicates that Automotive Engineering School does not havetraining workbenches to practice in its workshops.This research brought knowledge for the desing and the construction of structures, and it donates training material for that School. This knowledge involves knowing the traditional procedures to conceive a frame from software and the chassis construction.The objetives are: to design the frame, to build the frame, to assembly the power elements and automotive systems and finally to make the chassis the most didactic posible.The research starts studying the frame geometry. The elements to consider in this study are the mechanical components as the height of: engine, gearbox, driveshaft, differential element and other mechanical systems.After that, the research analyses and simulates the efforts and results by finite element software like SAP 2000 and ANSYS 12.1.A U-groove was used to overlap the spars. The research used squared and rectangular pipes for the crossbar. This is the way the researchers made the configuration of thestructural elements for the frame. The researchers used traditional techniques applied on the constructions of the metal structures. The chassis concluding part consists of assenbling frame, engine, gear, box, driveshaft, differential element and the systems of brake, steer and suspension.Results are satisfactory. Effort ́s simulation and analysis support the structure. Because of the training purposes of this chassis, the power and the systems were painted to clearly differentiate them.The elements to be connected to the frame were modifited to adapt to it. There be done a chassis dynamic study. There be assured a complete safety system
