Resumen
The research project is based on optimizing the wastewater treatment plant in the company "TintexRiver" located in the city of Pelileo, province of Tungurahua, dedicated to the process of dyeing and industrial washing of jeans. Its main objective is to have an adequate wastewater treatment plant to comply with environmental regulations. It began with a visual diagnosis followed by a collection of evidence for physical-chemical analysis and to apply the experimental method with which laboratory tests were conducted in the Faculty of Sciences using: test tubes, beakers, peachimeter, jar test equipment, pipettes, air compressor, conoimhoff. The appropriate concentration of coagulant, 5mL at 20%, and flocculant, 10mL at 0.1%, were determined based on the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) technique. With the application of the coagulant and flocculant concentrations, the following improvements were obtained: 26.43% in temperature, 40.98% in Color, 25.90% in COD, 24.14% in BOD5, 50% in Sulfides, 84.00% in Sedimentable Solids, 88. 89% of surfactants and 51.52% of fats and oils. Therefore, based on calculations, the following changes were made to the plant: a passage channel from 0.19m3 to 1m3, an equalization tank from 16 m3 to 32.5m3, a settling tank from 60m3 to 95m3 and, as secondary treatment, the implementation of a biodisc with a diameter of 3m and a volume of 73.4 m3 was established. It is recommended to implement the proposal made in this work, in addition to incorporating a trained person for the management of the treatment plant.
