dc.description.abstract | The design and implementation of a reduction and harmonization electronic system noise to a muffler based on permissible noise limits by the National Transit Commission for light vehicles, was performed with the purpose of reducing noise caused by vehicles contributing to the good life of the community. It investigated the study of different types of mufflers and its characteristics, which was used to develop the modeling and design of the electronic prototype muffler; likewise was determined materials and equipment to be used for the respective construction, form the 3 prototypes silencers designed in the experimentation phase, it proceeded to test noise, temperature and power in the exhaust system of a Suzuki Forsa 1 vehicle. In the performed tests it selected prototype 2, on the grounds that meets certain noise control adapted to the standard output, the prototype 2 is lighter, it takes up less space and allows to reduce the outlet temperature of the gases in 5,1oC than the previous exhaust system, therefore it increased the power of 0,3 kw that helps to improve the engine performance and decibels fell by 10,4% over the previous exhaust system. By the verified benefits in this electronic silencer is recommended to use in vehicle not exceeding 1200 cm3 | |
