The objective of this research was to evaluate the anti-sponge effect of Opuntia ficus mucilage, Aloe vera and Agave americana saponins in a shampoo, the studies were conducted in the Pilot Plant Laboratory of the Faculty of Science PIC 113 of the Polytechnic School of Chimborazo. The mucilages and saponins were extracted through a process of sampling and liquefaction of the vegetables, the resulting solutions were dehydrated in a tray dryer. For the elaboration of the three types of shampoos, the established formula was followed and the mucilages and saponins were added respectively. The physical properties of the shampoos were: Tuna pH 6.61, density 1.031 g/mL and viscosity 2031.2 cP; Aloe pH 6.57, density 1.030 g/mL and viscosity 2052.2 cP; Cabuya pH 6.22, density 1.030 g/mL and viscosity 830.5 cP. The evaluation of the Antisponge effect of the shampoos was determined with the application to 10 people with frizzy hair, three treatments were carried out with 4 repetitions, spending one day for each one; the data obtained allowed comparing the treatments under study with the commercial shampoo of known Anua brand Antisponge activity. Statistically, it was concluded that the three treatments are effective, however, the best was the aloe vera treatment because it reduced 59% of hair frizziness until its fourth application, a higher value than the one obtained by the Anua shampoo (56%). It is recommended to perform shampoos with a mixture of these mucilages and saponins to know if it is possible to enhance their effect.
