Resumen
It was is designed and built an electro-hydraulic lifting scissor type of low rise for vehicles up to two tons and a half, to implement the school laboratory of Automotive Engineering, which consist of two systems: a mechanical and electro hydraulic, with the aim of having an equipment to raise vehicles and to make automotive preventive and corrective maintenance, also for students to practice according to their career. Seeing the need for the elevator it was proceeded to perform calculations and design structure which was later verified with the support of the CAE software. Also, in this phase it was determined the requirement of building materials. The mechanicals system consist of a platform formed by profiles and square tubes welded together, the platform is coupled to the vehicle base for extra security which allows to lift the bottom of the chassis with complete stability, and its expanding arms allow larger vehicle to be lifted too, and height adjustable cleats, made of steel and non-slip material. The hydraulic system consist of two rods and an electric motor driven pump, it has the strength necessary to lift the car every fifteen centimeters, providing security against unwanted vehicle decreases and so avoid accidents. Because of the reduced space in the workshops, the elevator design is portable so it can be moved.
