Resumen
The present study aims to determine the interaction between the vehicle and the air flow, which leads us to design and build a wind tunnel for aerodynamic testing, so that the main motivation was to create the first test in the area aerodynamics, for future creation of a laboratory of the same at the School of Automotive Engineering ESPOCH. The technological evolution of the engines in vehicles resulting in instability causing high speeds when driving, hence the need to employ to produce greater aerodynamic downforce (negative lift), and make driving the automobile is safe and stable. To start the development of research proceeds to perform the calculations relevant to the design, sizing, material selection and construction of each of the sections that make up the wind tunnel once managed the design and construction of test we proceed to perform the necessary tests to verify proper operation, in addition to obtaining results of different test models at different speeds so we can get the conclusions. The design and construction of the wind tunnel allows an interactive tool that facilitates the study and understanding of aerodynamics in the automotive field could also reinforce the knowledge imparted in matters relating to the issue, recommending that before any bench testing aerodynamic read the manual to find out how it works so that its management is correct in order to get the best results.
