dc.description.abstractIn the Tunshi Experimental Station which belongs to the Chimborazo Higher Education Polytechnic School (Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo) Zootechny Engineering School, Livestock Sciences Faculty, quality and production of hydroponics barley green forage using three sulfer levels (20, 30, 40 ppm) plus a control and their response in crossbred Holstein cows in the first third of lactation, with weights approximately equal and as standard as possible, were evaluated. The investigation was divided into three stages: Hydroponics Green Forage Production, Nutrive evaluation of this feed and their response in Dairy Cattle. The seed and later the plant that yielded the best response on fertilizing with sulphur are those which were treated with 40 ppm sulphur and later those with 30, and 20 ppm sulphur and finally the control. It does not occur the same with the feed nutritive evaluation in which the treatment that had the best response upon fertilizing with sulphur was 20 ppm S. This is due to the fact that the latter had a 2 % protein increase in the chemical analyses, showing a 17.8 %, moreover this treatment showed a 2 lt increase in the daily milk production as related to the other treatments and the control which consisted of banana surpl
