This research was carried out at ESPOCH laboratories with the objective of testing and evaluating the gastroprotective activity of Achillea (Achillea millefolium L.) and Guaviduca (Piper carpunya Ruiz & Pav.) extracts in female and male rats (Rattus norvegicus). Gastric ulcer induction test was performed for two days using 96% ethanol. The study groups were subjected to 4 treatments, administered daily for 6 days, group C(+) was administered Omeprazole at a dose of 0.28mg/kg, group X 1 mL of Achillea extract, group Y 1 mL of Guaviduca extract, and group Z was administered a mixture of the two extracts Achillea 50% + Guaviduca 50% at a dose of 300 mg/kg. Dissection of all groups was performed to extract the stomachs, studying them macro and microscopically, demonstrating total healing of gastric mucosa, obtaining a percentage of ulcer inhibition corresponding to 100% for those groups treated with Achillea and Guaviduca extracts, An acute toxicity study was carried out in male and female mice (Mus musculus) administering 1 ml of a mixture of Achillea 50% and Guaviduca 50% extract for 15 days, then organs such as liver and kidneys were extracted from each group for a histopathological study, with the result that the treatment did not show any damage at the hepatic or renal level. It is concluded that the extracts of Achillea (Achillea millefolium L.) and Guaviduca (Piper carpunya Ruiz & Pav.) have gastroprotective activity producing a fast and total recovery of the gastric mucosa, evidenced in the macroscopic analysis and with the histopathological study of stomachs. It is recommended to elaborate a phytopharmaceutical trying to enhance the gastroprotective activity of these two species.
