The investigation was carried out in the animal biotechnology and microbiology and the dairy cattle unit of the Tunshi Experimental Station of the FCP. Its objective was to evaluate two ozone therapy methods (pure and diluted) in the treatment of the subclinic mastitis (MSC) compared to penicillin. According to the California Mastitis Test (CMT) previous to the application of the treatments, the MSC incidence was 31,38% in the herd; 20 cows were used. The pathogenic bacteria present in the milk were gram positive over the negative. The significant ones were the genera Staphylococcus with 42% and the cocci with 33% respectively. With application of the pure ozone there was more efficiency than in the other treatments for both the gram positive and gram negative bacteria with 100%. It was followed by a penicillin-based treatment (sodic) whose efficiency was 100% for the gram negative and 95% for the gram positive ones. The diluted ozone had an efficiency of 100% for the gram negative and 86,36% for the gram positive ones. The pure ozone was the most economic treatment. This is why the application of the pure ozone is recommended because it is more efficient, economic and does not leave residues in the milk.
