Resumen
The hepatic fasciola is a parasite that is present and it constitutes a frequent
illness inbovine of the county of Chimborazo that causes economic losses when
interfering in the normal development of the animal and to brake its production or
growth, overdrafts in theseizures of livers. The positive cases of hepatic fasciola in
the animals of the nearcommunities don't present discharges numeric differences
among these, adducing that thehandling of the bovine ones is almost similar in
each one of the areas. In 2011, in a periodof 8 months from a bovine total of
21421 an incidence of 13% was detected, in thecompanies of slaughterhouse of
the county of Chimborazo, of animals dedicated to thesacrifice, this means that in
the county a high incidence of this parasite type exists. ilt isbecause it is advisable
to carry out a control strategy specifically in winter times by meansof periodic
samples taking of the animals to establish a diagnosis of the presence of
thisparasite and power to arrive to treatments strategic against parasites in the
correct time,specially to design a program of efficient control according to the area,
herdsmen's rotationand to avoid the shepherding together bovine with ovine. The
obtained results of the incidence of the hepatic fasciola in the companies of
slaughterhouse of Chimborazo haveallowed to know the lack of a régime of
appropriate handling, therefore it is indispensablethat are carried out training
campaigns on these aspects, in such a way that the producerscan improve the
conditions of sustainable productivity in the cattle area.
