Resumen
"This study aimed to develop and implement quality control scar gel of Aloe (Aloe vera) and
marigold (Calendula officinalis), studies were performed at the Laboratory of
Phytochemistry of the Faculty of Sciences at ESPOCH Hand in the Chemistry Centre of
he Universidad Central of Ecuador.
The hydroalcoholic extract calendula was obtained by macerating it and it was identified
the active ingredients and phytochemical screening by thin layer chromatography. In
developing the 75% gel was used aloe erystals and 25% hydroalcoholic extract calendula.
The scar gel is due to light yellow color characteriti of calendula, unctuous to the touch is
good, no lumps are present, is consistent with a viscosity of 194,337 centipoins,
extensibiliy is 3,5 cm and pH of 4.51. In conducting the microbiological analysis was the
absence of contaminating microorganisms.
To determine the healing activity of the gel in wistar rats underwent wound in the back of 1
em long and 2 mm deep, was used as a control group of zinc oxide. There were five
different concentrations which gave the best result is the formulation that was four 1%.
We conclude that the gel has a healing activity greater than that of zinc oxide due to
synergism between the two plants.
It is recommended that a study of long-term stability to develop analytical methods for data
lifetime."
