Resumen
The present thesis is focused, to a generic title and matching its objective, in the power train tampering, adaptation of a braking system for a buggy prototype vehicle, taking into account maximum reliability standards, high benefits and economic feasibility, with the purpose to participate in the University Automobile Formula (UAF) (FAU in Spanish). A power train study and the “Braking
Mechanism” phenomenon are carried out by analyzing the fundamental
concepts related to the braking and tampering of conventional vehicles,
especially focusing on the aspects related to the optimum brake allotment and
the theoretical motor power increasing in the power train. In this way, a fast
overhauling in the elements which constitute the braking systems used in the present-day industry of automation, and the train power elements have been carried out. This is carried out by focusing immediately this task to the study of disk braking systems, due to their perfect and optimum use as a solution to the Project. The obtained results of the tampering and the adaptation show an increase of the theoretical power of 7CV in the motor and justified by the compression rehearsal which had an increase of 29 PSI, the thermal performance increased in 0, 3 because of the gas consumption and the road braking distance is 5,01m with the four wheel locking in the braking test. It is recommended to carry out the research, in the braking system, in so important aspects as the lateral and diagonal burden transference phenomena which are manifested when the vehicle brakes and turns at the same time, this situation considerably modifies the braking capacity of the vehicle.
