Resumen
The objective of the research work was to design and build a Mixed Sifting and Drying Equipment for the Separation of Amaranth Fungi Spores and their use as Biopesticides, which was carried out in the Department of Biological Sciences of the Faculty of Natural Resources of ESPOCH to achieve greater efficiency in its production. In the design of the equipment, we first carried out the simulation of these processes in the laboratory to observe experimental data and identify variables of the same, then we proceeded to execute engineering calculations for its sizing. Taking this as a reference we selected the main elements of the equipment such as: an electromagnet located in the lower central part of the equipment, which serves to control the vibration; for the drying process we used electric cartridge resistors, located in the upper part; to determine the particle size we used sieves with Mesh of 30, 40 and 60; all the mentioned elements are automated by means of controls. The equipment is 40 cm wide by 50 cm high and is made of AISI 304 steel to avoid corrosion and contamination of fungal spores. It was subjected to operational tests in the processes of sieving and drying, obtaining 0.90% of spore concentration, proving that the equipment is efficient and of great help for the separation of fungal spores. It is recommended to give preventive maintenance to the equipment for its correct operation.
