Resumen
In this research work it was possible to optimize the process of clarification of formation water in the oil field, through the BakerPetrolite company in the Villano field; which was achieved by decreasing the value of residual oil in water from 95 to 65 ppm, in this way a greater injectivity was obtained and therefore a greater production of crude oil. Laboratory tests were used, starting with the collection of data obtained before and after the research work. The results were based on obtaining good quality water to be injected in the injector wells with values below 60 ppm. The engineering calculations were based on the determination of the clarifier dosage used in the bottle test (laboratory), determination of the clarifier dosage applied in the test drum Q = 1.5x10-5 gpd; and finally the calculation of the mass balance applied in the test vessel. The need arises to build a much larger equipment (29 feet 6 inches long by 9 feet high), than that of the test vessel, to be installed in the process, and to be able to treat much larger volumes of formation water. The results of this research work have consequently shown how important it is for the company to work with this vessel to reduce these undesirable solids, guaranteeing good quality water.
