The University of the West Indies

The Irvine Committee, named after the chairman Sir James Irvine recommended the establishment of the University of the West Indies.

Sir Philip Sherlock was a former Principal of the St Augustine Campus of The University of the West Indies during the period 1960 to 1963, and was Vice-chancellor from 1963 to 1969.
