Agroecologia na educação do campo: a realidade da escola Família Agrícola de Santa Cruz do Sul, RS, Brasil

The research aims to analyze the perception of the students of sustainable rural development concerning Agroecology in the education approach. As for the research methodology, a questionnaire from an informal "class" was used. In this moment, students were able to interact with their field experiences and debate agricultural techniques that have principles of Agroecology, such as sharing experiments from their rural reality. The collected data were analyzed and tabulated into categories, where could be seen that students did not realized the principles of Agroecology before entering school, as well as the actual applicability of the knowledge built in the school in its rural reality and the resistance experienced by students when they tried to apply such knowledge. In order to modify this reality, it is essential to invest in similar initiatives to the work that Escola Família Agrícola de Santa Cruz do Sul is developing around Vale do Rio Pardo.
