Resumen
Physical activity is any body movement that results in energy expenditure above the level of rest, whereas physical exercise occurs from a planning, with the objective of maintaining or improving physical conditioning. Occupational stressors and sedentary behavior may be associated with inadequate working conditions. As the worker dedicates most of his time and strength to the work environment, the risk of pathologies and complications related to physical inactivity increases. In this sense, the study aimed to describe the relationship between lifestyle and mental health of health professionals residing in primary care. This was an exploratory research, with a quantitative-qualitative approach, carried out with resident health professionals (R2) in primary care. An interview script with a questionnaire was applied, where the items were related to the physical activities performed, work routine and the number of hours that remained in the health devices. Then, the Self Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20) was answered to assess mental health, this step being completed through Google Forms, through a link sent via WhatsApp. Participants who reached the SRQ-20 cut-off point (set at 7/8) responded to a self-designed semi-structured interview, whose questions investigated their daily habits, mental health, quality of life and interaction with work. Finally, of the 15 people who responded to the SRQ-20, 9 reached the cut-off point, but only 7 were interviewed, completing all the steps. Regarding the quantitative analysis, the free statistical software R, version 4.2.0 was used to create the tables and apply statistical tests. Regarding qualitative data, they were grouped and coded using the Atlas.ti 7.0 software (Qualitative Research and Solutions). In the SRQ-20 classification, 06 participants presented values lower than 7, while 09 obtained values greater than or equal to 7, which characterizes a greater risk of developing a common mental disorder or already having some type of mental suffering. Finally, it was observed that most respondents maintain an inactive lifestyle. Due to the pandemic, participants reported being more afraid of going to places where they could have contact with a greater number of people and get infected, contributing to the non-performance of physical activities and negatively impacting the physical and mental health of residents.
