Irrigation control allows smallholder farmers to have at their disposal a tool to minimize the impacts of the water crisis. Using the Arduino and ESP microcontroller platform, a system for irrigation control and management wasdeveloped, as these platforms are inexpensive and have didactic support. The principle of operation of thedeveloped system is through the field capacity of the soil, not allowing excess water to be inserted, avoidingwaste and optimizing irrigation. The developed system was presented to the young public, children of small farmers at the Veredinha Agricultural Family School - EFAV, during extension activity. The modularity of themicro controllers also allows the application of functions such as humidity control, temperature, reservoir level
and others.
