Educação permanente em instituição de longa permanência para pessoa idosa: proposta de intervenção voltada para os cuidadores

The Health System presented a substantial change in relations between sectors of society and included among its principles citizenship. From this concept the educational work needed to be restructured in order to contribute to improving the population's quality of life. In this regard, the Ministry of Health points out the need for investments in the Family Health Strategy and the permanent health education as proposed to be developed by the family health teams with the support of the Centers of Support for Family Health focusing on acting together through health promotion. As the element, the nutritionist has the task of putting into practice the actions related to food and nutrition to be developed in primary care in several areas of the territory in which it appears. The author of this work as a nutritionist at the long-stay institution for elderly Hector Horacio Dornelas, Rio Espera, Minas Gerais, notes some resistance from some professionals in routine work directed at the elderly. Thus, the nutritional status of these are compromised. This work aims to achieve through permanent health education in long-stay institutions for the elderly a focused intervention proposal for caregivers through educational activities.
