Resumen
In this research document, environmental education is implemented as a tool for
formulating an education strategy, which contributes to the transformation of
community practices, in terms of the use, management and conservation of the
Mangrove ecosystem. In the locality of Bazán Bocana, located in the Special District
of Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca; by means the analysis of the incidence that the
social, community and institutional actors have in relation to the mangrove
ecosystem of the zone. In order to obtain the perceptions of the actors involved, an
ecological measurement was made of the structure of the mangrove ecosystem to
know its status; In addition, from the knowledge dialogue, the method of social
research was used, with which the community is allowed to pass from passive
observers to be actors of transformation of the environmental problems of its
mangrove ecosystem. As a result, it was found that in the totality of the studied area
there is a 39.92% probability that two randomly selected individuals belong to
different species; the diversity is low since there is a 60.68% probability that two
individuals belong to the same species and this probability is greater than 50%
From the data analyzed, the mangrove ecosystem shows a high fragility, given that
the effects such as: wind, tides and the environmental climate, the resistance of this
slow sea, in the same way that can be seen to the extent that there is one in the
studied area, which is the red mangrove (Rhizhophora mangle), and few individuals
in the regeneration of the ecosystem; the community is aware of the state of this and
why there is a desire to maintain mangrove maintenance and denote the need for
this in identifying them as a key ecosystem for the development of economic
livelihood activities. For the above, an educational booklet is designed for the good
use, management and conservation of the mangrove ecosystem, serving as a guide
for the implementation of future activities
